juniejuniejune: i feel like i'm waiting for new year's
juniejuniejune: where everybody goes HAPPY NEW YEAR'S!
juniejuniejune: except more like... .. i dunno what you would say

What would you say?

This was my kind of "to do" list for today's Blogathon that I had posted on my first entry at the start of the 'thon.
I'm going to try and teach myself Swedish.Hey... never said I had to succeed in teaching myself, right? :P
I am also knitting.
I should also read the massive amounts of books I have, but don't worry, I won't get to that.
I also have a camisole top I'm making. If I finish it I'll take pictures and maybe do a tutorial.
I'll play some video games, but that's not quite as interesting.

Whoo! I got everything done except for the books, which I said I wouldn't do in the first place.

I've been disconnected three times during this Blogathon.

This has been a good event and I'm glad I decided to participate in it again this year. I hope you guys all sleep very, very, very, very, very, very well. Congratulations!

Remember, it's not too late to sponsor any of the Blogathon bloggers! Pledging goes through Sunday, I think. Thank you to all my sponsors. If you want to sponsor me, check the link on the left sidebar! It'd greatly appreciated!

Anticlimax.

Scene.

And now, I'm off!

Here are links to all the sites that I monitored today.

# :: Queen of Everything :: bow, scrape, repeat...
# A Tale of 2 WAHMs
# bRight & Early
# DreamTeam - Blogathon 2005 - Blogging for Doctors Without Borders
# hello, lovely
# Journal of a Fallen Angel
# The Crash
# The Red Room

I can't wait to sleep... the only bummer is that I probably won't get to sleep very long. I'll wake up around noon because of the heat.

The penultimate post... from me, to all of you still awake! Congratulations... we're almost there.

I'm playing "Coloring Fun!" at Toddler Town. There's a print option and I'm tempted to print some of these out... they're cute!

Everybody who is still here, alive, and blogging... keep it up! I know we can all stick it out to the end! Only two more blogs to go!

Now I'm going to play some Nanaca Crash once it loads up on my slow dialup connection.

Aren't you excited it's almost over?

One of the sites I'm still reading this late is So You Want to Marry a Racecar Driver. Four stories connected into one.

My right shoulder and side of my neck is TENSE. If I poke it it's about rock hard.

I'm still wishing DisconnectedBlog the best of luck on his way back home from wardriving.

My mum just gave me a shoulder massage... it felt good.

Anybody else thing that the last post is going to be anticlimactic as hell? I don't mind, as long as I get to fucking sleep.

I put away B&W and now I'm knitting... I'm almost done with one row, but now there's a terrible knot in my yarn and I'm trying to fix it. *frowns* It's not working very well though, especially since I've been up since 5:30AM.

Ugh, I'll just keep knitting with the knot.. what do I care? It's for me anyway.

I'm still not quite through the tutorial... I've never liked moving around in Black and White, but I guess once I get used to it it'll be a wonderful experience!

Whenever I'm faced with the choice of doing "good things" vs. "bad things" I always feel bad and do the good things... that's just my nature, even if it is a video game... is that weird?

My memory's starting to fade. I started freaking out because I couldn't remember what I was doing and I SWORE I had been doing something... then I remembered and everything was okay again...

Concentrating's really hard right now, but I think I'm gonna pop in Black and White and see how well I do in that game.

I think the rest of the night is just going to be random posts just to keep with the quota... I'm starting to get tired, and I dunno if I can keep up with interesting links and stories.

Have any of you guys heard of National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for short?

It happens every month during November, and writers all over try to write 50,000 words in the span of 30 days. I've participated twice, tried again a 3rd time last year but couldn't because of time constraints my senior year... I hope I'll be able to participate again this coming year, but alas, my very first quarter at the University of California, Santa Barbara will be in full swing.

So for any of you writers out there, see if you can participate.

There's something very cleansing about eating meals with rice. After a few bites of whatever the entree, the rice comes in to cleanse the palate, a nice refreshment before more tastes invade your mouth... It's like a rinse and repeat cycle, only with food! Good food!

I've decided against Grandia II and Black and White... I'm going to start EARTHBOUND instead! If you ever get the chance, you need to play this game. I'm playing on an emulator right now... shhh!

Man, I miss getting the one or two comments like I got at the beginning of Blogathon. That stuff doesn't really matter as long as I stay awake, but if we all talked with each other, things would be a lot easier!

There's also another comic that I recently came across called The Order of the Stick. If any of you guys are D&D junkies, or at least can recognize D&D references, you should check it out. It's updated MWF.

I'm running out of things to say. I've just been playing KoL and waiting for dinner to be ready. Here's a screencap of one of the monsters you can fight in Kingdom of Loathing. :P This one is a mutant created by the Knob Goblin Mad Scientists.

A bit late, but everything's finished except for the straps! Rejoice! Now it's time for a new project. ^_^

This is the stitching to attach the boob covers!:

And the back, which is not quite as exciting as the rest of the shirt:

I just hemmed the bottom edge of my shirt with a zigzag stitch... As I went along though, I realized I put the wrong color on the wrong side. I don' thave enough bobbins to make a green threaded one, so I just used a bobbin with white thread on the bottom... but I used the white on the outside! But now it's a contrast color, so I guess it's okay... I sewed kind of everywhere though... oh well!

I should be done in the next half hour.

I've been taking in the camisole top tube part so it fits better near the top, right under my boobs.

Also, I forgot something in the tutorial! You have to hem the bottom and the back part of the top! So after you do everything else, you gotta hem. :P

Sorry this is short... I didn't have that much prep on this one.

I'm angry. I was supposed to quit work at the end of July. However, our manager had to go into the hospital abruptly, and we're shorthanded, especially since another lady has been on medical leave/vacation for awhile also. I didn't mind working for another week, but now I'm going to be working through the end of August, and I'm not going to have enough rest time before I move into my dorm in Santa Barbara.

I feel bad for the other high school graduate that I work with though... she moves to her school at the end of August, and she's working through to then! At least I get a few weeks break... she was supposed to quit at the end of July too but couldn't.

So much yarn!

That post has inspired me though... I think I want to make a dangling stitch marker like the ones she has shown in that entry... another project? Perhaps for another time. -_-;

I started working on my camisole top... that should be done by the next hour or so. Aren't you excited about the pictures that are gonna come soon?!

Finally! Here's the tutorial... I'm sorry it's actually the crappiest tutorial ever in the world... but what are you going to do?

You will need at least 2/3 of a yard (or maybe less if you make it way short)... the longer you want the tube part of the shirt, the more yardage you'll need. You'll also need something for the straps, whatever you decide that may be.

The layout:
(Remember all your pieces should be going in the same grain direction!)

The boob part of the layout, so you can read:

The directions:

If something is illegible or incomprehensible, comment please, and I'll try and clear that up for you.

I'm itching to play some of the video games I have lying around, but I should really do the stuff I already said I'd do first, huh?

Time keeps flying by! I have the tutorial uploaded on my computer and I'm editing it... but for now, here's a website about BDSM. She's afraid that nobody's reading her website, but I say they may just be too scared to comment. It's a Q&A/mythbuster format about BDSM, to the people who have no idea what it really entails.

Anybody know anything about the GIMP? I don't use it much, and I've been trying to figure out how to make a picture brighter and I don't know where that option would be!

I want some companionship on AIM. :-( I tried downloading Y! Messenger earlier but the download froze... if I tried again, would more people be able to talk to me?

Aww, I like getting plugged! Thanks Carrie! I'm glad my posts are actually somewhat interesting this year.

Lately I've been playing this game called Kingdom of Loathing. It's an awesome browser-based game, which is technically in "beta", not that you'd notice. It's such a quirky little game, with fun quests to do. Check it out! You'll love the little references they have to real life bands, movies, and things, whatever category they fall under. So check it out when you can.

Another interest of mine is zines. I run a zine distro called HELP ME distro. A zine is kind of like a magazine, only not quite as mass-produced. They can be personal... kind of like a diary (though usually more interesting than "Today I went to Jack in the Box..."), or political, or crafty, or fictional. A distro is short for "distribution". So if you run a zine distro you distribute and sell zines that people make.

One day I want to make a crafty zine, full of patterns and tutorials for stuff I've made and other people have submitted, plus links to really good crafty sites, like Craftster and the LJ community craftgrrl.

I tried constructing a tutorial with Paint for that top I posted but I got frustrated trying to label stuff, so I'm going to redo it on paper and hopefully it'll come out okay if I take a picture of it with the digicam. I miss my old scanner/copier/printer I used to have, but it broke, so I'll just have to make do! Hopefully I'll have that tutorial up soon... and I set up my sewing machine, so I'll probably be finishing the top today also.

I'm going through all the sites I'm monitoring and I keep getting ideas for things to do today! Will the list never end? I want to be like Kara and rewrite some of my stories... I'll do this tutorial first, I guess.

Carrie: Wow... I dunno if I'd have the time to spin yarn with all the other hobbies I already have! I applaud you. I wish there was a reply to comment feature so I didn't have to talk to you through the blog entry, but alas... perhaps if you have AIM you can IM me sometime and we can talk in real time. :P

Man, I've started on a picture taking craze.

*snickers* All you moms out there are going to be aghast at the state of my room. I haven't even made my bed yet!

(Who am I kidding? I never make my bed.)

Next post, I'll have something more substance-filled... maybe.

To Carrie: I'm so glad to know that there are more gamer/knitter nerds out there too. :P And yes, the needles DO get expensive! Sheesh... maybe I'll just make my own like this! Granted, they aren't bamboo knitting needles... Also, how did you start off making your own yarn?

It seems I am absolutely NO HELP in solving riddles. Someone help! We don't want Gillian to succeed. I'm terrible at riddles. Maybe you're a bit better? o.o;

And now, here are pictures of my knitting project:

Does it look like a legwarmer yet? XD

This is the packaging for the double pointed needles I'm using. I like bamboo needles. The thing I hate about the aluminum ones, and this only gets bad when they start getting to the mondo-gigantic sized ones, is that... well, they're made out of aluminum, and they're hollow! The sound they make, even when I just tap them with a fingernail, makes my teeth hurt... and since my friend was adamant about not using plastic needles, bamboo it is! And anyway, I'm supporting my people. :P

And this picture is the yarn I'm using! That clump on the side came out as I fished around for the end. Originally it actually looked like a mini-skein... but alas, it is now just a clump that I have to continually untangle.

My grandma endeavoured and has created for me shrimp po-po! It's a crepe-type thing... except it didn't work out so well and in fact, just kind of turned into tempura. I'm eating it with tonkatsu sauce right now... which is actually making me crave some pork tonkatsu!

But I think later on I'll make some eggs, as suggested by my vegetarian monitor. ^_^ I always end up making eggs late at night.

Here is a story:
Lately I've been having rehearsals at my house for a short film my friend is doing. They were taking a break so I was getting out some food for everybody. The director, Matt, is half-Chinese, and I'm Japanese, so we have the nice title of "Chopsticks expert." I was getting out noodles for him and laid out some chopsticks, and one of the actors looks at me and laughs. "You have chopsticks?!"

Matt and I gave him an incredulous look.

This idea is so neat. They're driving around finding wireless networks they can log on to blog.

And this person is playing Xenosaga II. Nice to know another gamer is around blogging today! Perhaps I'll pop in my Grandia II into my PS2 and play.

This is the camisole top I've been working on. The bottom part is a tube out of green t-shirt knit, and right over the front part is a patterned sweater knit. This pic has the two triangles pinned to the top. You can see the green in this picture.

The following picture is with everything layed out as it should be. It's not sewed yet, but it will be soon... hopefully. I don't know what to do with straps yet. I had a concept earlier but I decided to scrap that idea. I may just get some trim from my work... I happen to work at a fabric store called Yardage Town. If you live in San Diego County you may have heard of it.

I'm not getting very far in this Swedish-learning... I haven't even gotten to the first dialogue. I think my brain's too floaty right now to even comprehend and remember the pronunciation... I'll figure it out with all the words, I guess!

MAN it's nice, bright, and early! It's also freezing ass cold.

In retrospect, I should have gone to bed a lot earlier. I don't think 6 1/2 hours are gonna cut it, do you?

I have nothing of interest to post yet.

I have a few things I'm going to be doing today, along with the random snack and caffeine runs and various attempts to stay awake:
I'm going to try and teach myself Swedish. I have a CD and book from the brand that is, in fact, called Teach Yourself Swedish. Neet, isn't it? Since it's early, I don't want to wake my grandma up with the audio version yet, but I'll start on it around 6:30.

I am also knitting. I'm knitting in the round for the first time and no wear near finished. I'm making two 12" leg warmers, and I'm on the first one... about 2" in. It's gonna take me awhile.

I should also read the massive amounts of books I have, but don't worry, I won't get to that.

I also have a camisole top I'm making. If I finish it I'll take pictures and maybe do a tutorial.

I'll play some video games, but that's not quite as interesting.

Good morning you guys, and good luck!
